Oddblox Integrates Chainlink VRF to Help Facilitate Random On-Chain NFT Generation
We are excited to announce that Oddblox — a generative on-chain art series — has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on BNB Chain mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, Oddblox has access to a secure source of randomness, helping enable probably random Oddblox NFT mints and transparently fair outcomes in giveaways. This provides a more exciting, transparent, and fraud-proof user experience, as users can benefit from a fair distribution of rarity traits and verifiably random giveaways.
We selected Chainlink VRF because it’s based on cutting-edge academic research, supported by a time-tested oracle network, and secured through the generation and on-chain verification of cryptographic proofs that prove the integrity of each random number supplied to smart contracts.
The Oddblox genesis NFTs are a series of purely on-chain experimental art NFTs minted on BNB Chain. Thanks to Chainlink VRF, a verifiably random hash is generated upon minting that serves as the DNA of each newly minted piece. This random value gives birth to the shapes and colors that make up each composition. The art is universal, speaks without language barriers, and leaves it up to the viewer to interpret each piece — much like a digital Rorschach test.
Our genesis series is stored on-chain, but we needed a way to ensure our generation process was tamper-proof. Chainlink VRF was the clear solution that provided us with industry-leading security and peace of mind knowing that no outside actors could alter results. Chainlink VRF works by combining block data to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Oddblox smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides users with automated and publicly verifiable assurances that each Oddblox NFT generated utilizing Chainlink’s VRF is provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the Oddblox team.
“We’re excited to enhance our generative on-chain art project by integrating Chainlink’s industry-leading RNG solution,” stated the Oddblox team. “By using Chainlink VRF, our users have stronger assurances that the randomness behind our genesis series and giveaways is unbiased and tamper-proof.”
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.

About Oddblox
Oddblox is a purely on-chain generative art series comprised of 4096 experimental pieces. Each piece abstracts negative space in a unique way leaving the viewer open to interpret the forms created. Using a variety of shapes and color palettes each piece is assembled on mint. The created image is then encoded and stored in the token. When you own the token you truly own the art.
